Load the desired weight plates onto the sled leg press machine.
Sit down and position your back and head flat against the padded support.
Place your feet shoulder-width apart on the sled platform, toes slightly turned out. Grasp the machine’s handles for stability.
Unrack the safety levers to release the sled.
Keeping your core braced, slowly lower the sled by bending your knees and hips until your thighs reach about a 90-degree angle (or as deep as comfortable without letting your hips lift off the pad).
Press the platform away by extending your legs, but do not lock your knees at the top.
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
At the end of your set, engage the safety levers and carefully lower the sled to rack it.
💡 Pro Tips
Keep your heels flat on the platform at all times.
Do not allow your knees to collapse inward or bow outward. Track them in line with your toes.
Avoid lifting your lower back or hips off the seat to prevent strain.
⚠️ Common Mistakes to Avoid
Snapping the knees straight at the top, which moves the sled's load from the quads onto the knee joints.
Placing the feet low on the platform, which drives the knees far forward and pulls the heels up.
Holding your breath for the whole set, which drives blood pressure very high; exhale on each press.
